General:
Perennial herb from a fibrous root; stems erect, much branched above, glabrous, 10-40 cm tall.
Leaves:
Stem leaves elliptic to oval, unstalked, obtuse, glabrous, 1-2 cm long, 0.5-1.0 cm wide.
Flowers:
Inflorescence 20-150+ flowered; petals orange-yellow, 2-4 mm long; sepals 3-5 mm long; stamens less than 20; styles 3.
Fruits:
Membranous capsules, 4-5 mm long; seeds yellow-brown, about 0.5 mm long, transversely wrinkled and longitudinally finely-lined.

Habitat / Range
